I recently had the pleasure of chatting to one of Australia's most loved nutritionists, Miss Lola Berry. Known for her passionate and infectiously colourful personality, Lola has shared her knowledge, humour and beautiful recipes in countless magazines, websites, cook books and TV shows across Australia and internationally.
I feel honoured to have had a 'real' chat with Lola - covering everything from the joys and struggles of running a business and being in the spot light, right through to her views on 'dieting', what it means to be 'happy', how she goal sets and what she has in store for 2017. Did you know that she used to be a DJ?? I sure didn't.
Not only has Lola recently opened 'Happy Place' Smoothie Bar in Melbourne, but she is set to release her 9th cook book (talk abut over-achiever!!) on March 1st - entitled 'Food to Make You Glow'.
So go and get comfy, settle in for an hour, and have a listen to our chat. I think you'll enjoy it!

Lola's Top 5:
1. What is one piece of advice you would give to you 20 year old self and why?
Spread your wings. So just, no matter what, take the risk, jump... and I have lived that way. Really don't be afraid - do what feels right.
2. What is your favourite quote or words to live by?
I do love the Steve Jobs one... there's this one scene where someone wants to show Steve a prototype of something he has been working on, and Steve says "is it your best work"? The guy replies by saying how he's been working on it for 18 hours straight and Steve asks again "is it your best work", to which the guy says that he's given it his best shot. Steve asks again "But IS IT your best work?" and the guy says, "well, technically, no"... and Steve tells him to not show him anything unless it's literally the best thing he can create.
It just makes me think 'wow'. And I love it because you have to give it your best - every time I write a new book, I go into it with the mental thought that it will be my best work yet.
3. Do you have a favourite book or podcast you refer people to?
"This Way of Life" - it's a book and also a documentary. It really gets you to check in with your values.
4. If you woke up tomorrow and had obtained any skill in the world, what job would you be doing other than what you are doing now?
My dream as a kid was to be a zoologist because my dad is a vet.
5. Top 3 favourite foods?
Changes every two seconds!
Salmon & Coconut Oil
Gingerbread Smoothie from Happy Place in Melbourne.
