New Year, new you? Why do we wait all year to make resolutions or initiate change in our lives? Why is it that we don't just embark on growth and change as it enters our mind to do so?
I guess the first day of a New Year triggers a 'fresh start' or a 'new beginning' and perhaps a good time psychologically to decide to hit the reset button. Whether it be to exercise more, to be more present, to find a better work/life balance, to see more of the world, to get out of a toxic relationship, or to step out of our comfort zone, change always comes with an element of fear. Why? Because change is scary! Human beings are creatures of habit and as best we can, we like to have things stay the same... because staying the same feels safe.
